From Our Own Correspondent. Tho beautiful grounds of Mr. L. B. Wall on Lower Aorangi road will be the scene of a, garden party to-day In aid of the candidature of Miss Joan Ru - s6ll, Farmers’ Queen. Tennis, golf, a cycle race and various competitions are the special attractions offered to patrons. Should the weather unfortunately prove inclement, arrangements have been made to conduct the function in the Kairanga hall. „ „ „ Messrs D. Collis, L. B. Wall, P. G. Mlldon and J. Clark, who canvassed the district last week in connection with the stock drive In aid of the Farmers’ Queen, report a generous response from the settlers. Miss Doris Young has scored feignal success with her ponies at the Wairarapa Show held at Carterton, securing three first and two second awards. The school children are keenly interested In their potato growing competition and each has now planted Ms own variety in the school plot.
