PKOVINCIAL EXECUTIVE MEETING. Various remits and recommendations were dealt with at the quarterly meeting of the Wellington Provincial Executive of the W.D.F.U. at Marton. Tho Palmerston North branch suggested that registered housekeepers be supplied with receipt books bearing the name of the W.D.F.U. for dealing with moneys received from employers. This branch also expressed a desire for advising members to submit to the committee tho names of all applicants for relief, the discussion on the appeals to be absolutely iu committee, as members felt that they could do much better work in helping such eases. Much discussion arose with regard to this request, and the remit, was eventually rejected, members deciding to continue the custom of tho branches in keeping as secret as possible their benevolent workings so as in no way to embarrass thoso receiving help. A remit was tabled, "That emergency powers be given to Dominion vice-presidents to act in emergency cases, such cases to be Teforrcd to headquarters, and if necessary a sum up to £2 be issued for expenses." This proposal is to be carried on to tho Dominion executive. The aims and objects for junior branches which wore compiled by the Marton junior branch were carried unanimously.
