Alleged Bookmaking On Whippet Meeting
THREE MEN ARRESTED. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. Following a visit to the New Zealand Cup meeting of the New Zealand Whippet Racing Club at Riccarton on Saturday by detectives, William Joseph Brosnahan, Thomas Henry Owens and John Prisk were arrested on charges of carrying on tho business of bookmakers. They were charged with the offence before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded.
