Identity of Name Louise “Established”
BRITISH M.P.’S CLAIM. Received Sunday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 28. Mr. McGovern, of the British House of Commons, claims that he has cstablished beyond doubt the identity of Marie Louise as Olga Israel, an attractive 23-year-old Jewess, living with wealthy parents in Berlin. She had an affair with Lieutenant BaillieStcwart, but was not in any way connected with the court-martial. In April, Lieutenant Baillic-Stewart, aged 24, was cashiered and sentenced to five years’ penal servitude alter being found guilty by a court-martial of an offence against the Official Secrets Act. The name of Marie Louise, a mysterious German girl, was heard frequently during the trial, it being alleged that through her Stewart betrayed his country. Baillic-Stewart in his defence confessed merely to a love affair with Marie Louise who, however, did not come forward to give evidence, nor could she be found at the time of the court-martial.
