SUPREME COURT GRANTS DECREES Several applications for divorce came before the lion. Mr. Justice MacGregor in the Palmerston North Supreme Court on Saturday. Lily- Ethel Hoult, of Fcildiog (Ail Taylor) petitioned on the grounds oi separation for more than three years, for divorce from Fred Hoult, farmer, of parts unknown. Petitioner said she was married on October 18, 1916, in tho Fcilding Methodist Church. There were two children. On March 17, 1927, she obtained a separation order from Mr J. L. Stout, S.M., and since then she had lived with her mother. It was six years since she last saw respondent, whose address she did not now know. AVm. E. Baker, farmer, of Mak’ino, brother of petitioner, corroborated her evidence that Hoult had not been in Fcilding for six years. Austin Baker, court clerk, produced the separation order made by the Court iu 1927. A decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute at the expirition of three months, the interim, custody of the children being given to petitioner. Adultery on tho part of his wife was alleged by Alan James Moßoberts, labourer, of AA r aipukurau (Mr Ongley), when seeking divorce from Edith Amelia Racchal Mcßobcrts. AVm. Gaston was cited as co-respondent. Petitioner said ho was married on March 31, 1931, at AVaipukurau. There were no children of the union, which was not a happy one. His wife was given to going out at night and staying away till early in the morning. He complained of her associations with Gaston, and finally they agreed to separate, petitioner paying her maintenance. She went away with Gaston to Ohingaiti, where he subsequently found them living together as man and wife. Alan James McLeavey, solicitor, of Palmerston North, said he went with petitioner to Ohingaiti in August last and was present when respondent and co-respondent admitted living together as man and wife. lie secured a writtn admisison from them. A decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after the expiration of three months. Rita A’eronica Lane (Mr AV. L. Fitzherbert), of Palmerston North, was granted a decree absolute in divorce from Charles Patrick Lane, of Palmerston North, with custody of the three children of the marriage. Janet Isobel Flavcll (Mr Ongley) was granted a decree absolute in divorce from Sydney AValtcr Flavell, with custody of the child of the marriage. Adultery was alleged by Thos. Samuel Saunders, bus driver, of Fcilding (Mr Cullinane), when asking for divorce from Joan Ann Saunders,of AVeilington. Chas. AVm. (Pat) Hcaly, ship steward, of Christchurch, was named as co-respondent. Petitioner told the Court that he married respondent on October 16, 1928, and subsequently they lived at Fcilding, Christchurch and AVcllington. There was one child of the marriage, born in 1930. He did not see his wife aagin till 1932, and from that' date not again till February last, when she admitted having carried on with someone else in the meantime. She had said he could go for a divorce as she was past worrying what ho did now. On a Sunday early in May last he went to Wellington and saw his wife, who had a baby in her arms. AVhen he suggested clearing up the whole business with divorce proceedings, she told him to fire ahead.” Thomas Henry Saunders, blacksmith, of Feilding, father of petitioner, who was present at the interview with respondent in Wellington, gave corroborative evidence. C. O. Bell, solicitor, of AVcllington, who sers«d the divorce papers ou Mrs Saundersand Healey, said both had admitted adultery. A decree nisi to bo made absolute after three months, was granted, costs to be paid by co-respondent. A decree absolute in divorce was granted Peter Grieve Dingwall (Mi Grant), salesman, of Palmerston North, against Violet Dingwall, of Dunedin (Mr Cooper). Petitioner was given custody of tho children. Au application by respondent for permanent alimony at the rate of 15s a week was agree'd to by petitioner.
