The erection of the memorial gateway at the entrance to the soldiers’ plots at the Kelvin Grove cemetery is now completed with the exception of a minor plastering job, which will be finished this week. Of simple though massive design, with two wing walls over a chain in length on each side, the gateway adds to the appearance not only of the soldiers’ section but also of the cemetery as a whole. At a later date it is the intention of the Returned Soldiers’ Association to hold a ceremony to mark the completion of the work.
