Utuwai

On Friday night the young people of Utuwai and districts, spent a jolly evening in the Utuwai hall, when a dance was held, combined with a meeting of the committee of the Women’s Institute. A number of old-time dances featured the dance programme, and two Monte Carlo waltzes were held during the evening, the first being won by Miss E. K. Wingate and Mr. R. O. Batchelar. An ample supper was supplied by the ladies, and music was furnished by local players, Misses J. Searle and K. Searle, and Messrs J. Cn.wood, E. Buckman and T. Searle. Mr. B. Duffy capably carried out the duties of M.C. The lucky partners for the second Monte Carlo waltz were Miss Marjorie Wingate and Mr. J. Wingate.
