Martial Law in Siam
REBEL SOLDIERS MARCH ON CAPITAL. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SINGAPORE, October 12. A rising occurred among the troops in Eastern Siam, who have captured Uonmuang aerodrome, which is the regular landing stage of the air services from Europe. Thirteen kilometres from Bangkok tho rebel troops encountered Government forces from the capital and firing occurred. There are no details. Martial law has been proclaimed. Their Majesties arc staying at the seaside. Armed guards have been placed at the Lcgat: ns and foreign banks. ’fhe population of Bangkok is quiet and the Siamese Consul at Siugapore expects the Government to restore normality in two or threo days.
