Swimming in Feilding

ANNUAL MEETING OF CLUB. The annual meeting of the Feilding Amateur Swimming Club was held on Thursday evening, Mr G. J. Fitzpatrick presiding. In moving the adoption of the annual report, already published, the chairman congratulated the club and members on the excellent manner m which the club had been managed during last season, making special mention of the fact that the borough Avon Id have only £-13 to subsidise, as against much larger amounts in previous years. He congratulated Miss P. Sporle on her many laudable attainments during last season. .. Tho election of officers resulted: Patron, Mr J. Gordon Elliot; president, Mr O. .Sporle; vice-presidents, Mrs E. 11. Fisher and Mr G. Fitzpatrick; hon. secretary, Miss B. Dewc; club captain, Mr H. Dewc; vice-cap-tain, Mr M. Fade. The ladic4’ committee avas "unani. mously re-elected, with the addition oi Mrs Sporle. The men’s committee is Messrs Dclchanty, Lync, Hurdle, Gasldn, Grindrod and MeColl; liandiea.pper, Mr G. Bade, delegates to the Centre, Messrs Sporle and Fitzpatrick; caretaker, Mr A. E. Cocker. , „ , It Avas resolved that the usual ,ormal application be made to tho Borougi Council for the use of the Municipal Baths. m Mr O. Sporle moved that a copj o. a fancy diving chart be procured for the club. This matter, together with Mr O. T. Eade’s proposal that a signboard be erected at. the bath gates, was left in the hands of the committee to deal with. One guinea AA-as voted to the 1 eliding Pipe Band for its helpful services. Some recognition to be made to Mr A. Geary for his invaluable services as hon. club auditor was placed in the hands of Messrs Fitzpatrick and Sporle and Miss B. Dewc to deal with.
