Anti-Japanese Attitude by Soviet Press
TENSION OVER RAILWAY DISPUTE United Press Association—By Electric. Telegraph—Copyright. MOSCOW, Sept. 24. The Press adopts au anti-Japanese attitude following the Soviet Note regarding the Chinese Eastern Railway, which created excitement in Manchukuo as the result of a threat to supersede the Soviet manager, Mr Rudy, by a Manchurian official. ‘ The Manchukuo authorities have arrested M. Kublu, the chief accountant. M. Kalina, the manager of the motive power department, and M. Lavorff, the works manager.
It was reported on Saturday that the latest Soviet-Japanesc incident consisted of a chary Soviet _ protest against an alleged Japanese intention to reform the existing management of the Chinese Eastern Railway. The Japanose wore demanding that Manchukuan officials have equal responsibility with Soviet officials. The disputes which had arisen wore coupled with the failure to come to terms fat tho sale of the railway, and Japan now intends to seize the Tailway. In the meantime additional Soviet activities within the Siberian border were reported.
