Mrs. Strickland, Lower Hntt, Is visiting Mrs. G. A. Forrest, Queen street. Mrs. M. Holden and Mrs. E. Brooker, of Palmerston North, are visiting Wellington. Miss Dorothy Beorc, of Auckland, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs H. J. King, Elmira avenue, has returned home. Mrs. Douglas, 8.A., mistress of the household at Friends School, Wanganui, has been appointed hon. secretary of the junior branches of the League of Nations Onion in New Zealand. Miss Gwen Nelson, Havelock North, who has been studying art abroad for four years, is spending a few weeks in Wellington, where she is sketching before the New Zealand Academy Sketch Exhibition, A reception to Mrs. McCombs, M.P., will be tendered by representatives of women's organisations in Wellington cm Tuesday evening next in the Pioneer Club. Tho occasion will be strictly non-political, and is to celebrate the advent of women into Parliament.
