British Motor Trade Improves

A progress report from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd., London, shows a remarkable increase in British motor trade exports for the six months ending June 1933, in comparison with tho corresponding period of 1932. It indicates definitely that United Kingdom manufacturers of motor vehicles and kindred lines, are doing their part in helping to restore Great Britain’s volume of trade, to the benefit, not only of the Homeland, but also of this Dominion. Tho total .increase in value of exports over the six months is no less than £1,648,034, or 24.9%. The greatest advancement was made with private cars, taxis and chassis, tho figures being £928,753 better than the corresponding period of 1932. Tho number of units exported during tho six months of 1933, taking private ears and chassis, commercial vehicles and chassis, and tractors, were 27,011 as compared with 18,298 for the corresponding period of 1932. Therefore, an increase of 8, 713 units for the 1933 period has been made. The following table sets out the whole position in a most graphic form: —
