RUMBERG v, PATTERSON At the Opera House on Tuesday night two of the biggest athletes in the wrestling sport will meet for their third time in New Zealand. Hal Runiberg has won on each occasion, but there has been so little between them that the match on Tuesday night may almost be called the deciding one. The match at Whangarei on Wednesday night finished unsatisfactorily by the intervention of the police and Patterson’s disqualification, when honours were even. What Jack will try to do on Tuesday night may be aplenty, but it certainly looks as though the Palmerston North people were in for one of the treats of their lives. The amateur events on Monday night should prove most interesting as the entries are coming in plentifully aud with some promise of a surprise in more than one section. Unless the present holders of the championship titles have- kept up their form, we may be hailing some new champions
on Tuesday night after the finals have been fought. Two years ago the members of the Force presented a shield for tlie most improved wrestler over the last 12 months. Harold Benton won it last year and it is predicted that a "dark horse” is likely to be tlie holder for the next 12 months. This trophy is not necessarily to be presented to the most consistent winner but may be won by a loser as “most improvement” ill the condition of the gift. The box plans open to-morrow morning at the Central Booking Office and for the sake of those in the country districts who wish to hook seats we quote the actual prices that they must send to the booking office to secure a seat: The ringside seats including all charges are 5s 11 d, while d.c. and o.s. seats will cost -is lid.
