Air Bombing of Tribes On Indian Frontier

A crowded Legislative Assembly heard the Viceroy’s denial that frontier bombing in any way infringed the canons of humanity. Air action Oj this sort had often occurred in the past twelve years without comment. On the present occasion no one was killed and only one man injured. The effect of air bombing lay in the economic loss inflicted by the destruction of dwellings and the disturbance of everyday life. Pacifying Indian Border GOVERNOR TO MEET TRIBAL CHIEFS. CALCUTTA, Aug. SO. A peaceful conclusion to frontier operations is expected to result from the visit of Sir, Georgo Cunningham, Governor of the North-west Frontier Province, to Peshwar next week, when he will meet the tribal chiefs and representatives in Jirga. ■
