Mr. S. Mclntosh was re-elected chairman of the Woodville Dairy Company at yesterday’s annual meeting of shareholders.
Still no change is reported by the hospital authorities in the case of the motor cyclist, F. E. May, who was seriously injured in a collision at Fitzhcrbert on Tuesday morning last. Rear-Admiral Dalglish, of the Australian Squadron, who has been indisposed for several days, loft Auckland for Rotorua yesterday morning and is not expected to return till next week. At yesterday’s meeting of the Mana-watu-Oroua branch of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association, a motion of sympathy Was passed with Mr. W. J. Croucher, a member, in the death of his sister who passed away yesterday morning.
Guests at the Hotel Imperial include Mr. Shepherd (Masterton), Mr. Bowman (Wellington), Mr. G. Simmiss (Auckland), Mr. Gregory (Wellington), Mr. Miller (Tuai), Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Leggatt (Poverty Boy), Mr. L. McKenzie and Master McKenzie (Waipawa), Mr. Eric Johnstone (Wellington). Colonel A. W. Orsborn, who was recently appointed chief secretary for the Salvation Army in New Zealand, will arrive in Palmorston North to-morrow and is to be welcomed by local Salvationists in the evening at the Citadel. On Sunday the visitor will conduct all services. In the afternoon he will doliver a special lecture entitled “Inspirations Prompting My Songs.’’ The chief secretary will bo accompanied by Brigadier C. Walls, of Wellington, and also Brigadier and Mrs. Cottrill and Major and Mrs. Gray, of Palmerston North.
