Guests at tho Hotel Imperial include Mr. A. Luke (Wellington), Mr. Thompson (Napier), Mr. J. Morrison (Auckland). Mr A. S. I’airc, of Auckland, formerly district Public Trustco at Palmerston North, •visited the city for the week-end and proceeds to Wellington to-day. The death occurred at Christchurch last evening of Rev. George Lindsay, aged 87, a retired minister of the Presbyterian Church. Ho was minister of St. Paul's, Invercargill, for 23 years, until 1911, in which year he was Moderator of the General Assembly. Afterwards ho was at St. Clair for two years and at Southbridge for live years.—Press Association. The death has occurred of Mr. William Clement Cargill, of Morrinsville, aged 63. Prom 1892 to 1902 he was proprietor of the Wairarapa Star, later known as tho Age, and from 1901 until 1908 ho controlled tho Patea Press. Subsequently ho started tho Pukekohe Times and then purchased tho Morriusville Star. At tho time of his death ho was managing director of tho Cargill Publishing Company, which publishes the Morrinsville Star, Matamata Record and Putaruru Press. Mr. Cargill was president of tho Master Printers' Federation from 192 S until 1930. Press Association.
