Four started, including, Rodditclt, which fell six lengths from home, which caused a sensation ns Redditck was tho outstanding jumper of tho year .and winner of the Grand National Australian Steeplechase. Redditcli immediately rose and galloped away, but. the rider, R. Inkson, was seriously injured and sustained deep concussion. Lanilda won easily by two lengths. Time, 4.15). In the Apprentices' Handicap, the New Zealander, Haling Light, was fifth. Peter Jackson ran badly. Persian was fifth in the Mooriicld Mile, while Kodapen was sixth in tho Moorfield Handicap. 7 Bayacfe showed very bad behaviour at the barrier and the starter recommended' that in, future Ms nomination be refused.
