The nomination of Mr H. R. C. Wild, son of Mr and Mrs L. J. Wild, of Feilding, for the Rhodes Scholarship, was referred to at Friday’s meeting of tho Feilding A. and P. Association when congratulations were tendered to Mr Wild and the hopo extended for tho success of his son. At Friday’s meeting of the Feilding A. and P. Association enthusiastic appreciation of tho gift by Mr and Mrs J. Knight of an assembly hall to the Feilding Agricultural High School was recorded.
Mr E. M. Hare, recently elected to the general committee of the loilding A. and P. Association, was warmly welcomed by the president, Mr D. W. Reid, at Friday’s meeting of the association. t A very old settler of the Sandon district, in tho porson of Mr. Henry Mathews, passed away ut his residence Mt. Stewart, yesterday, at the age of 7S years. The lhte Mr Mathews was very well known in the district, and he leaves to mourn his passing his widow, together with three sons and three daughters.
