Pleasant Afternoon at St. David’s Social Guild

St. David’s Church social guild held a very pleasant afternoon in the schoolroom on Friday, Mrs GlCudinning presiding over a' largo attendance. The room was gay with spring flowers and during the afternoon the hostesses, Mesdames Atkinson, Berryman and Holmes, served a dainty tea. Contributing to tho pleasure of the gathering wero the following items:—-Songs, Mrs McL-achlan, Misses M. Walker and Mclva Day; recitation and reading,.Mrs J. Davidson. An amusing competition was won by Mrs Day. Opportunity was taken to welcome two visitors from Lanark (Scotland), Mrs and Miss Lightbody, who were asked to convey greetings from St. David’s Guild to the guild in their home town. Before the function concluded, arrangements were finalised for a social on July 19.
