Spivakovsky-Kurtz Concert

.NEW PBOGBAMME TO-NIGHT There should not be a vacant seat in the Opera Houso .to-night when the incomparable Spivakovsky-Kurtz Trio of instrumentalists will make their farewell appearance in Palmerston North. Music-lovers who did not have the good fortune to hear these superlative artists in their previous concert here, will be well advised not to miss this last opportunity of enjoying a musical treat of a land that comes but once in a lifetime. An entirely new programme is announced, including the beautiful Tschaikovsky trio, “In Memory of a Great Artist,’’ one of the most profoundly moving works in the whole range of musical literature, and one which the Spivakovsky-Kurtz players, compatriots of Tschaikovsky, render with an especial sympathy and understanding. Mr Edmund Kurtz., “the wizard of the ’cello,’’ will play a new sonata by J. B. Breval, and Mr Tossy Spivakovsky’s violin solos will include the Schubert-Wilhelmj “Avc Maria,” Beethoven’s “Turkish March” and Brahm’s “Hungarian Dance No. 1.” Mr Jascha Spivayovsky will play the colossal Organ Fantasy and Fugue of Bach, transcribed for the piano by Franz Liszr, and a Chopin group, including the Mcroic Polanaise, the F Sharp Nocturne, and the Impromptu in A Flat. Plans are at the Central Booking Office.
