Arthur George Tasker, aged 9, was killed instantaneously this evening when a lorry driven by Richard Savage capsized over a bank near Okoia, four miles from Wanganui. Farmer Fatally Injured in Capsize of Car Per Press Association HASTINGS, Last Night. Fatal injuries were Tceeived this afternoon by Mr Robert Elliot, a farmor and a married man, when tho car ho was driving turned over, crushing him in the open door. Mr Elliot, with two children, was proceeding from home at Mangatahi, 30 miles from Hastings, when the car evidently got out of control, for after an erratic course it capsized. The two childrea climbed out uninjured. Three Women Injured LORRY AND CAR COLLIDE HASTINGS, Last Night. Three women wore injured when a motor-lorry containing 20 passengers from Napier, on their way to a religious meeting at Hastings, was struck by a motor-car on the Napicr-Hastings road in the vicinity of the Whakatu turn-off, a few- minutes before 7 o’clock last night. The three injured were admitted to the Napier Hospital. Their condition is reported ns satisfactory. They are: Mrs Ada James, aged 57, Burlington road, Napier, deep scalp wounds; Mrs. Isabella McTaggart, aged 57, Milton road, Napier, severe cut on the loft side of the forehead; Mrs Nellie McEwen, aged 54, Ossian street, Port Ahuriri, fracturo of the upper arm. Tho motor-lorry, which was driven by Mr R. Scott, was travelling toward Hastings when tho accident occurred. The car, which was travelling in the direction of Napier, was driven by Mr Charles McLeod, of Wanganui. The front of the car struck the driving 3ide of the lorry with such force that the lorry turned, over on its side.
