From Our Own Correspondent. On Friday a gift evening was tendered to Miss Peggy Moore, who is to be married shortly. Thero was a large attendance and Miss Moore was the recipient of many beautiful aud useful presents. Mr. W. Hansen, senr., on behalf of the residents of Kimbolton, presented tho guest with her gifts and wished both Miss Moore and Mr. E. W. (Trevor) Beard a very happy and prosperous future. Mr. Trevor Beard, ou behalf of his fiancee, thanked the donors for thoir good wishes and gifts. Dancing was indulged in, the music being supplied by Mrs. Barnicoat, Misses Hore and Dorward and Mr. W. J. Hansen. Mr. Geof. Hair acted as M.G. The happy evening was brought to a closo by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” Football. On .Saturday a small crowd of spectators witnessed the Kimbolton seniors win by a margin of one point over Apiti B on tho Kimbolton recreation ground. Kimbolton compiled 10 points (two converted tries) and Apiti B nine points (three unconverted tries). Mr. C. Osborne carried the whistle. In the morning tho primary, schools held a seven-a-side competition, Apiti A winning. Tho results aro as follow: Apiti B beat Cheltenham 6—o; Apiti A beat Rangiwahia 14—3; Kimbolton drew with Waituna 11—11; Kangiwahia beat Cheltenham 3 —o; Apiti A beat Kimbolton 3 —o; Rangiwahia beat Apiti B 5 —3; Waituna beat Rangiwahia B 3—o.
