From Our Own Correspondent. On Thursday evening a very enjoyable dance and social was held in tlie school room. There was a splendid attendance of local residents and under the auspices of Mrs. A. Turner and Mrs. J. Matheson and the joint M.s’C. Messrs A. Wake and J. Clarke, things were kept on the swing. Music supplied by local talent proved very efficient. Several amusing competitions were held, among them a bag bursting relay race. Mrs. Turner's team succeeain being victorious. A memory test was won by Mrs. A. J. Perry. Another amusing competition was the tearing out of an elephant from paper and quite a little art gallery was displayed for judging. The winner was Mr. J. Clarke. A little community singing was also indulged in. The dainty supper served reflected credit on the local ladies.
Mr. S. Schnell is at present spending a holiday with friends in Wellington. Miss- E. Seilens left oa Saturday for
