Weddings of the Month
GRICE —00 WEN. St. Patrick’s Church, Palmerston North, was the scene of u pretty wedding on Wednesday, June 21, when Miss Margaret Cowcn, fifth daughter of Mr. and Mrs Li. A'. Cowcn, of "Ormond," Newbury, was married to Mr. George Grice, second son of tho late Mr, and Mrs. G. Grice, Ashburton. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. Monsignor McManus.
Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a model frock of wine wool crepe-dc-chino with a smart hat to match. In place of the usual bouquet, she carried a prayer book. She was attended by Miss Helena Cowcn, who wore a smart red ensemble with hat to tone. Tho bridesmaid also wore an exquisite amber necklace, the gift of the bridegroom. Later the happy couple left for their honeymoon which is to be spent in Christchurch, the bride travelling in a smart brown tweed frock with hat to match and fur coat. Air. and Mrs. Grice will make their new home in Ashburton. MOER—ROWE. At tho residence of Airs. T. Rowe, Rongotca, on Saturday, June 17, the marriage was celebrated quietly of Miss Annio Rowe and Mr. «). S. Aloir, of Shannon. The bride looked charming in a frock of coffee satin and beige laco with veil and orange blossom. Misses Ethel and Marion liowc were in attendance on their sister, wearing mauve and green satin respectively with velvet capes and lace caps. Air. Wyncss, of Wellington, ably carried out the duties of best man, and Air. Donald Rowe those of groomsman. The bridal couple were the recipients of numerous presents and telegrams. Airs. Rowe received her guests in a becoming black satin-frock. After tho wedding breakfast, the happy couple left by car cn route for Rotorua.
