From Our Own Correspondent. The weekly shoot of the Tokomaru Rifle Club was held ou Thursday last when the following scores were registered: —J. Schaw, 09, 09-138; T. S. R. Schaw, 08, 09-137; R. Scanlon, 06, 59125; J. Hansen, 69, 09-13 S; C. Williams, 67, 06-133; A. Grady, 67, 64-131; H. Mason, 03, 00-123; R. Mason, 63, 64127; E. Ghyde, 61, 64-125; 11. Southee, 64, 65-129; A. Moody, 66, 63, 129; B. Walden, 63, 65-128; J. McNeill, 70, 66136. A very enjoyable Rifle Chib dance was held on Wednesday last. There was an excellent programme of dances, and all present spent a jolly evening. Music was supplied by a professional orchestra, extras being played by Miss Bree. The first Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr G. Walden and partner, the second by Miss C. Seifert and Mr B. Walden. The trophies were presented by Mr G. Williams as follows: —A team (Mr J. McNeill), a cup to bo won two years iu sucession or three years at intervals; B team (Mr E. Mathews, (cup won outright); C team (Mr C. Williams), (cup won outright); trophy, for most improved shot, Mr H. Pentecost; trophy presented by Mr. McNeill, won by J. Angus. The ladies present were Mesdamcs J. Liggins, J. Anderson, W. Pope, Palmer, Atkinson, Guy, H. Parr, Schaw, N. Pope, Gumming, Claridgc, Misses J. Bree, white organdie, C. Seifert, green and white georgette, M. Ellery, lemon satin, R. Ellery, pink satin, J. Borte, black satin, A. Mason, white satin, j. Kelly, lemon satin; A. Anderson, black satin and net, Jameson, white, Corlett, green and white, Williams, pink satin, M. Selimass, green satin, Davis, white georgette, J. Hill red satin, G. Guy, satin red, and many others. Another dance is to be held in a month’s time. Women’s Institute members are reminded of a special meeting to be hold on Tuesday June 27 at 2 p.m. to finalize arrangements for the Group Rally.
