From Our Own Correspondent. Fog Hampers Shipping Tho M.V. Foxton, with cargo from Lyttelton direct, arrived off the bar on Thursday evening, but owing to a thick fog which obscured the harbour lights, tho vessel was compelled toremain at anchor until Friday morning. The Foxton Anally berthed at about 10 a.m. During tho recent spell of frosty weather a considerable amount of dense fog has enveloped the coast line in the mornings and evenings. On Tuesday morning tho Huanui, outward bound for Greymouth, was compelled to anchor in the river at Manawatu heads for somo considerable time before being able to cross the car. The fog was so dense along the coast on that occasion that the pilot (Captain A. Nelson), who had earlier gone over the bar to take soundings in his launch, was compelled to remain outside t.ie entrance for over an hour before being able to return.
