Sale of Pigs
Messrs Dalgcty and Company, Ltd., report having held Mr. J. A. Bussell 'a annual sale of pedigree pigs at the Palmerston North Showgrounds on Tuesday, tho 14th iustant. There was a very large attendance and buyers were present from Gisborne, Taranaki, Wairarapa and Auckland districts. There was very keen competition right throughout the sale and practically every lot was disposed of under tho hammer. The top price of the sale was realised for the Berkshire sow “Blythewood 's Kival’s Hope” by the imported sire “Bival’s Chief 2nd,’’ this lot falling to the bid of Messrs Carroll and Cooper, Gisborne, for 21 guineas, after keen competition. Bcavis, Bulls; 2 at 3gns. to Gilbertson, Hastings; 1 at 3gns. to W. Jamieson, Bulls; 1 at 31-gns. to Williams and Terry, Mauricevillo West. Berkshire boars: One at 41gns. to O. A. W urn low, Mangaweka; 9. at 41grts. to A. Wycherley, Ashliurst; 1 at GJgns. to H. A. English; 1 at Signs, to K. Langston, Awapuni; 1 at sgns. to Wesley College; 1 at sgns. 1o H. Baynor, Carterton; 1 at 4lgns. to T. Lean, Manakau; 1 at Ggns. to Carroll and Cooper.
