Ladies’ Committee of College Street School
Tho final meeting of the present ladies’ committee of the College street school was held on Monday afternoon last at tho resideneo of Mrs. Bowler Watson, Union street. Those present at tho meeting which was presided over by Mrs. Bowler Watson were: Mesdames C. S. Pees, A.. McLeod, A. Worboys, Pearson, A. Smith, H. Ward, J. H. Whyte, L. Laurcnson, B. F. Barlow, and the acting secretary, Mrs. Nicholson. Colonel J. H. Whyte, chairman of tho men’s committee was also present. Apologies for absence wero received from Mesdames F. N. Andrewß, F.
Tucker, G. Watchoru and H. Wollerman. It was decided that a letter be sent to Mrs. R. Edwards, a member of the committee, expressing to her and her family in their recent sad bereavement, the sincere sympathy of all members of the committee. A communication was received from Mrs. W. G. Miller tendering her resignation as a member of the committee owing to her pending departure froij» the district. It was decided to express to Mrs. Miller the committee’s keen appreciation of the services she had rendered. It was also decided that a letter be sent to Mr. H. Wollerman conveying tho thanks of the committee for the valuable assistance he had. given during the year. Colonel J. H. Whyte announced the financial result of the social functions held during the year, the total sum realised, viz., £56 16s Id, being considered by members to bo a very gratifying one. He also took the opportunity of conveying to the ladies’ committee an expression of appreciation and thanks for the help and co-operation which bo and his committee had received during tho year. After the transaction of routine business the meeting terminated with a vote of thanks to Mrs. Bowler Watson for her hospitality.
