Necklines join forces with capes and bows, and many charming effects can be obtained. The neckbows are very smart, but they need more wearing than they always get and ought not to be undertaken in very soft materials. I’ve sketched you two new little numbers in the fashionable crushed velvet that so closely resembles ermine. In white they are adorable, but they’re terribly smart in either fawn or grey, and the price?—2/6 and 2/11! The link sleeve is the sleeve of the boyish tailored mode. m The lantern sleeve is full and graceful as its name implies. % The peasant sleeve js full, and tied at the wrist. The tiny flare above the elbow adds Parisian chic to simplicity of line. 4*% jU ys y*'* Capes fascinate me and here again there is a diversity of styles and some of them the cutest things ever! I’ve tried to draw you one in imitation ermine which features the so fashionable military note, but no illustration could capture the quaintness of it. Priced at only 39/6, it can be worn with a number of frocks. Cravats, too, in the same attractive material are unbelievably smart, and provide just that necessary finish to a suit. At 19/6 there is an intriguing little affair which fastens with a bow effect. A • -■ ft' m. in to As for the hat bows, they are perky enough. If they mean anything at all they probably mean 4 ‘Cheerio, and that is quite the right note to strike in these days. Wear grey for the Autumn and Winter and you’ll know that you re just right—it’s going to be a grey season, but not in the dismal sense for the new greys are warm, delicate and becoming. This is a velvet season, and velvet accessories are superlatively chic. Whoever would have imagined velvet gloves, and yet they’re the onlv really correct note in glovewear this year —and only 15/6!
