On Saturday morning a team from the Woodvfilo District High school visited Palmerston North for tho purpose of meeting a team from the Palmerston North Technical school. Tho games were played at tho Technical school’s courts in Grey street and x, vc-ry high standard of play was attained. The singles between tho iirst two boys of each school were exceptionally well fought out—the play lasting over an hour in each case. Unfortunately, time did not permit of all the doubles being played out. At tho conclusion, of the morning’s play Technical school had won 9 sets (77 games) aifl Woodvillc 3 sets (45 games). Tho detailed scores are as follows (Woodvillo being mentioned first): —
Girls’ singles: Z. Mclntosh, lost to P. Meade, I—7; A. lost to K. Katenc, I—7;1 —7; M. Singers lost to L Forrest, I —7; K. Ware lost to J. Rowntrec, 5 —7. Boys’ singles: Burlaco lost to Bowler, 7—9; Anderson beat Linklater, 9 —B; Johnston beat Wright,9—7; Warnock lost to Davies, 4—9. Girls’ doubles: Z. Mclntosh and A. Bonny lost to P. Meade and K. Katcnc, 2—o; M. Singers ariu K. Ware lost to I. Forrest and J. Rowntree, I —2 (time requiring cessation of play). Boys’ doubles: Burlace and Anderson lost to Bowler and Linklater, 2 —6; Johnston and Wamock beat Wright and Davies, 3—2 (time requiring cessation of play).
