From Our Own Correspondent. Rifle Club Shoot Weather conditions were perfect on Saturday for the fourth shoot for the Apiti Itiflo Club championship belt, which was firod at 300, 500 and 600 yards. Scores were registered as follow:—A. E. McKenzie, 31, 34, 31—96; D. C. Beckman, 30, 34, 30 —94; Don McKenzie, 33, 30, 26 —80; G. E. Elliott, 30/ 28, 30— SS; T. W. Pratt, 3], 2S, 29—88; W. McKenzie, junr., 26, 30, 2S —B4; N. Viles, 27, 32, 25—54; E. G. Buckman 22, 30, 31—83; H. Wildbore, 21, 30, 21—72. Personal Mrs. A. Scarrow, of Eaetihi, is the guest of Mrs. S. Martin at Martor. block. Mrs. J. Cautwell is at present spending a holiday in Whakatane. Mrs. Arthur Prince and her son are on a holiday visit to Te Awamutu. Mrs. J. Aird and her children have returned from an enjoyablo holiday in Auckland. Miss D. Swift, also returned from Auckland during the week. Tennis Apiti A and B teams met on Saturday for the first game in the third round of the Haythorne Cup competition. Apiti A won easily from their club mates, who lacked the assistance of two of their regular players. Following are the scores, A team mentioned first: —

Men’s singles: C. Stevens beat. C. Buckman 6 —6; Kilgour beat C. Osborne 6 —6; McNae beat Gubbins 7 5; H. Schmidt lost to E. Schmidt 2 6; D. Kearney beat, Cautwell 6 —3;8. Muir lost, to Waterson 4 —6.

Men’s doubles: Kilgour and Stevens .lost- to Buckman and Osborne 5 —7; •McNae and H. Schmidt beat Gubbins and E. Schmidt 6 —3; Kearney and Muir lost, to Cautwell and Waterson 3—6.

Ladies’ doubles: Mesdames Kilgour and McNae, junr. beat Mesdames Dick and Waterson 6—4; Mrs. McNae, snr. and Miss Calder beat. Mrs. Buckman and Miss Hitchman 6 —l; Misses Osborne beat. Mts. Duncan and Miss Viles 6—o.

Anniversary Service As Sunday was anniversary day in the Methodist Sunday school, Mr. A. R. Thomas conducted a special morning service for children. Teachers and scholars from the Methodist and Presbyterian Sunday schools were present At the conclusion of the service prizes were presented to the follownig Methodist scholars: Girls, Joan Mapson, Shirley Prujean, Mavis Brunger, Pat Brunger, Ellery Waterson; boys, Charlie Mapson, Ivan Waterson, Ivan Osborne, Eric Waterson, Mervyn Osborne, Fred Mapson, John Brunger, Eric Brunger, Bay Osborno, Noel Prujeam
