Power Board Material At Milson Aerodrome
QUESTION ASKED BY BOARD MEMBER “I don’t see any report before the meeting of anything being loaned to Sir Charles Kingsford Smith on the occasion of the accident at Milson, -’ said Mr. P. G. Guy, at yesterday's meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board. “I believe that lie had the use. of vehicles and other property belonging to the board, and I would like information,” Mr. Guy continued. “I have had complaints by letter and telephone in regard to this matter.” The chairman (Mr. O. McElroy): Mr. Waters will reply to that. I don’t know anything about it. Mr. W. A. Waters (chief engineer) said that following the accident, tho Aero Club had had offers of equipment from all over the place. “We had offers of pole 3 and I took three of ours. The cost of putting them up was paid by the Aero Club. ’ ’ Mr. Guy: What about tho Dele® lighting plant? Who paid for the lighting? Lighting material, replied Mr. Waters, had been loaned by a Palmerston North firm. The Delco plant had been used for only about an hour. The account was still to go out to the Ac y Club and would be paid by that body. There the matter was dropped.
