.From Our Own Correspondent. Tho Waiata school picnic was held in tlio school grounds on Thursday. The weather, unfortunately, was not ideal, but both children and adults spent a pleasant day, threatening rain not interfering with the programme. Delicious lunch and afternoon tea' was provided by the ladies of the district. In addition to the prizes each pupil of the school was presen led with a book, each visiting child receiving a present. The programme was capably conducted by the teacher, Miss E, Henagha.n. Following are the results of the races:— Flat race, senior: Jean Eedshaw 1, Beres Mulholland 2.
