Rubber- coated Valves

Rubber-coated valves, a recent contribution to tyro improvements, have several advantages to recommend them. First, they aro vulcanised to the tube and. employ no locknut to work loose or start air leakages around the base of the valve, as is encountered with the claraped-in metal valve. Second, in case of puncture, the rubber valve will slip back into ttho tyre without tearing the tube, which is not always true in the case of metal valves with Tim nuts.

The new valve is an integral part of the tube. It. fits into the rim hole under compression, providing a watertight. seal against entrance of dirt and water to the inside of the tyre.

While primarily developed for use on drop centre rims the rubber-covered valvo tubes can also be used on mauy types of flat base rims.
