VETERANS’ VASE WON BY PALMERSTON NORTH
One of the closest contested games played on the Manawatu greens this season found Palmerston North defeating the holders, Manawatu, by one point for this trophy. The rinks and scores were:—Palmerston North: Aitlcen, Fleming, Giorgi, Ross (s) 16; Manawatu: Gough, Hunter, D. Low, Spooner (s) 15. Aitkcn led particularly well for the winners and Ross played a splendid game, repeatedly drawing the score shot ou adverse heads. Hunter kept a steady length but Spooner was not aggressive and a quiet drawing gama from him is unusual. . , Gold Stars Challenge.
