SEASON CONCLUDES AT TERRACE END
On Thursday evening the Terrace End Swimming Club held the last races in the series for boys, girls, men and women. A small carnival programme had been drawn up, but owing to the prevailing “flu’’ it, was considered advisa,blc to cancel this. The same cause was responsible for many scratching? in the cup races which lost a great deal of interest thereby. The series are as follow: —For men and boys: 50 yards, 75 yards, 100 yards, and 150 yards free style, 50 yards breaststroke and 25 yards backstroke; for women and girls: 25 yards, 50 yards, 75 yards and 100 yards free style, 25 yards breaststroke and 25 yards backstroke, the following points being allotted: First 4 points, second 3 points, third 2 points, and unplaced but finishing 1 point. The winners were as follow: — Ladies’ Club Cup (1932 winners, Misses W. Barnes and B. Picrard, tie): Miss Z. Robinson 1, 144- points; Miss W. Barnes 2, 104 points. Mens’ Club Cup (1932 winner, A. Valentine): S. Sapwell 1, 22 points; K. Sapwell 2, 15 points. Boys —Herbert Smith Trust Cup (1932 winner, S. Sapwall): C. Baigeni 1, 20 points; L. Rowlands 2, 7 points.
Girls —Herbert Smith Trust Cup (1932 winner, Dorothy Gibbs): J. Hamilton 1, 19 points; D. Gibbs, 2, 17 points.
