It is understood that conditions are practically back to normal at Russell Street School, where a number of children have recently suffered from a mild attack of summer sickness.
All three candidates from the Palmerston North Technical School for tho New Zealand technological examinations were successful, Arthur Cecil We'st passing in cabinet-making, intermediate grade; Ronald Lcslio Langford and Andrew James Robertson passing in plumbing, intermediate grade.
A fine chamois and a good specimen of thar fell recently to tho gun of Mr A. D. Vickers, an English sportsman, and son of Mr. D. Vickers, a former chairman of Vickers, Ltd., the armaments firm, who ha's been stalking in the high alps at the Hermitage, Mt. Cook (states The Press). Mr Vickers, who is now in Christchurch, described the sport he had had as enjoyable. But it was very hard work, ho said.
The Gazette issued on Thursday evoning contains a notification that Summer Time, which commenced at 2 o’clock in tho morning of October 9, 1932, ends at 2 o’clock New Zealand standard time in the morning of Sunday, March 19, 1933. Clocks, will therefore bo put back thirty minutes as from 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 19.
