CITY TRAFFIC HELD UP BY BARRICADES OF CARS. United Pross Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright VIENNA, Jan. 27. Resenting the increased petrol tax and the brutal measures of the police in seizing cars for default of payment, city ‘taxi-drivers preconcertedly concentrated at the crossroads at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, formed their cars into barricades, and stopped the whole of tho city traffic during the busiest hours. Troops and Armoured Cars Clear the Streets VIENNA, Jan. 27. Troops were called out to enable the police to be released for street duty, owing to tho paralysis of traffic. Troops with fixed bayonets also arrived on the scene, besides armoured cars, which dragged the taxis off the main street, practically ending the strike.
