Unionists at Cricket
LONGBURN v. FEILDING A friendly game of cricket was p;ayed on Kowhai park last week between members of the Longburn branch of the Freezing Workers’ Union and representatives of the Feilding branch of the union. The visitors, who were accompanied by their womenfolk, were enthusiastic in their praise of the beautiful grounds. Feilding batted first and made 158. Longburn replied with 69 and followed on, making 189 in their second innings. Feilding in their second innings got the scores level with the last pair batting, and a dropped catch gave the home pair one more chance. They made one more run, and won by that margin. In the evening tho visitors and the hosts and hostesses held a social gathering in tho Foresters’ hall. The day was a great success all
