No Foreign Film Stars at Hollywood

WHOLESALE EXODUS FORECAST United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright Received Sunday, 10.30 p.m. LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28. A wholesale exodus of foreign film talent from Hollywood was forecast today by Murray W. Garsson, special assistant to the United States Secretary of Labour, who announced that all foreign actresses, actors and technicians were under scrutiny. Mr. Garsson inaugurated the longheralded Government drive by arresting John Farrow, screen writer and a familiar figure in the film colony’s social gatherings, on a charge of overstaying his leave. Mr. Farrow said he was a native of Australia. It was alleged that ho first entered tho United States as a seaman. His screen plays include “Wheel of Life,” “Wolf Song” “Ladies of the Mob,” and “The Woman From Moscow.” Mr. Garsson said he had begun questioning Maureen O’Sullivan, tho Irish actress, in connection with tho arrest of Farrow.
