At a itcception at the Pioneer Club last week, Miss Ella Shields, the wellknown vaudeville artisto in expressing her pleasure at being in Wellington again, remarked on her visit to tho Waitomo Cavos, which sho thought excelled in beauty anything of tho kind she had seen anywhore in the world. She ■ suggested, also that tho “inevitable” depression could be met by the women by a simplo process of “adapting themselvos.” In her opinion, it was mostly a matter of comparison.
Tho International Council of Nurses will hold its biennial conference in Juno this year. Tho delegates will meet in Paris, and will continuo the conference in Brussels, states the Christchurch Press. The Now Zoaland Trained Nurses’ Association has decided to send an official delegate to tho conference, and Mis» Eva Young, matron of Boss Homo, Dunedin, has been appointed to act in that capacity. Miss Young is Dominion president of tho association, and also president of tho Otago branch of the association. Sho will probably leave New Zealand for Europe in May.
