Trod ow Crocodile
PRAWNER’S ADVENTURE Michael Tenech trod on the tail of a crocodile while prawning near Mackny, Queensland, recently. After charring him 50 yards tho crocodile plunged at him and fell into the water. Messrs. J. Mulherin and Tenech were dragging a. net when Mr Tenech trod on a J submerged object which was the tail of a crocodile. Tho tail swashed upwards and caused Mr Tenech. to stumble. Mr Mulherin who saw the swishing object, thought it to be a stingray. “That’s a decent stingray," he said, “Look out for him.!’’ “I think it is a crocodile," said Mr Tenech with alarm. Mr Mulherin did not share that view, and they went on prawning after gaining tho bank. When the two men were about to cast the net the crocodile made for them. Mr Mulherin slipped and fell down an embankment and splashed through the water to safety. The crocodile concentrated on Mr Tenech "who had about 2o yards start, but the crocodile overtook him in the next 25 yards. With its jaws open it lunged at him. Mr Tenech. made a frantic leap to ono side, and the. rushing monster dashed past him and fell into the stream, sending up a big splash, and disappeared.
