(From Our Own Correspondent.') Mr. John Carroll is a New Plymouth visitor to Ekotahuna, where he is visiting his aunt. Mts. G. Hoolcer, Nireaha, is at prosent on a holiday in Rotorua, where she is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Singleton. Mrs. Hooker is accompanied by her small Son, Ray. Preparations aro being made for the welcome of the Governor-General, who is to be a visitor to Eketakunn this week. Those people whose desire it was to have a swimming carnival in Ekctahuna had their wishes gratified on Tuesday night, when a most successful meeting of swimmers took placo at the Swing bridge. Bro. L. Cooper was in tho capacity of M.C. and certainly kept things running with a swing. Miss H. Jesson and Mr. H. Pearsc wero the lucky pair in the Monte Carlo, and Miss M. Dcrle and Mr. G. Fafeita wero the winners in tho Lucky Spot foxtrot. A very delightful supper was a feature of a very pleasant evening. A tennis team from Eketahuna visited Alfredton on Sunday last, where they participated in some excellent tennis, which owing to the rain was unable to be concluded. Low and Mrs. Low lost to J. Robb and Miss Greathead, 4—6; Burch and Miss Smith lost to Stone-Wigg and Miss Kensington, 6—5; H. George and Miss Hartley lost to J. Pickering and Miss Z. Renment, 6—2; M. Hull and Mrs. Seymour beat M. Sutor and Miss Dickson, 6—5; H. Percy and Miss Godinagh lost to Page and Mrs. Ross, 4—6. Men’s singles: R Hutchinson beat K. Godinagh, 7 —2; J. Robb beat R. Low, 7—5. Tho rest of the games were unable to bo played owing to the rain. Men’s doubles: K. Godinagh and R. Low beat R. Hutchinson. and J. Robb, 6—3; H. Percy and H. George beat J. Pickering and P. p age; c—5; 11. Hull and R. Burch lost to Suter and G. Stone-Wigg, o—6. Ladies’ doubles: Mrs. Low and Miss B.
