Church Services
At Emmanuel Congregational Church, Broadway, both services to-morrow will be conducted by Pastor C. G. H. Bycroft. The subject at the morning service will be “Intimacy with Christ, and its effects.” This will be a message of importance to believers. The subject, at the evening service at 7 o’clock will be “The Conquest of Fear.” This will be a special message for the times. The duct, “What will you do with Jesus?” will bo rendered at this service. ' A very warm invitation is extended to visitors and strangers to the city to worship at the Congregational Church.
To-morrow the services, at the Cuba Street Methodist Church will be conducted by the Rev. J. D. McArthur at 11 o’clock, and that at 7 o’clock by the Rev. R. E. Fordyce, of the Ashhurst, circuit. During the evening service a solo will be sung by Mrs. W. Morrison, of Fiji (nee Miss Doris Morgan). The service at Longburn at 2.30 will be conducted by Mr. McArthur. Sunday school will resume at Cuba Street on Sunday next at 9.45 a.m. The Dominion Evangelist of the Baptist Union, Rev. J. Carlisle, will preach at the 7 o’clock service in the Baptist Church. lie has recently concluded a successful tent mission at Nelson, following on those of Hastings and New Plymouth. In the afternoon at 3 o’clock the official opening of tho new Sunday school will take place. This new building is in Miro street, just off Rangitikei street. At the .morning service tho Rev. C. S. Matthews will speak on “Tho Ministry of Dark Days.”
