Promise of Rain Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. An anti-cyclono now covers New Zealand while a moderate depression is located in the western .Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable with northerlies predominating and shortly freshening in the south. Seas (~.Z. waters): Smooth to moderate but rising somewhat in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Eastern Tasman Sea: Light to moderate northerly winds freshening somewhat; seas smooth to moderate. Weather: Fair to fine at first and warm but cloud increasing in western districts and rain developing to-morrow in western and southern portions of South Island.
