Bush District En Fete For Vice-Regal Visitors

Yesterday was a gala day so far as Woodville and Paliiatua were concerned, for it marked the first official visit of the Governor-General (Lord Bledisloe) and Lady Bledisloe to these towns. The whole district was en fete in honour of the occasion and at both centres large crowds assembled and the proceedings were marked with the greatest enthusiasm. To the speeches of welcome, his Excellency replied with eloquent and thought-provoking addresses, that at Pahiatua being on the same lines as the one delivered at Woodville.
