A further downpour drenched the metropolitan area last night, and more rain and thunderstorms arc expected to-day. The temperature yesterday reached 94.4, and humidity at 86 at 8 o’clock in tho evening. DELUGE IN MELBOURNE MELBOURNE, Jan. 27. A rainstorm burst on tho city late yesterday, and the streets were flooded to a depth of two feet in the low-lying parts. Lightning dislocated the electric system in half a dozen suburban areas. BRISBANE, Jan. 27.
Tho Ward and Langlo rivers aro rising rapidly and sheep have been removed from all river frontages in the low-lying country. Rain recommenced last night.
