Feilding Methodist Church

QUARTERLY MEETING The Rev. F. Copeland presided at the quarterly meeting of the Fcilding circuit of the • Methodist ChuTch when there was a fair attendance of representatives. Membership returns for the circuit showed 266 senior, 91 junior and 31 infants in the schools. The quarterly balance sheet revealed a growing deficit. Steps are to be taken to reduce this or if possible wipe it out before Mr. Copeland’s departure. Special collections were authorised during the current quarter for the Feilding and Colyton trust funds. Sunday school and Bible class work throughout the circuit shewed great promise. The annual young men’s Bible class district camp is to be held in Feilding this year. The treasurers of the Foreign and Homo Mission funds reported the year’s contributions from the circuit as follow: Foreign, £262 9s lid gross, £258 8s lid net; Home, £147 16s gross, £l3l 7s net.

The Women’s Missionary Auxiliary raised, in addition, £55 10s towards the salaries of sisters in the home and foreign fields. Messrs Taylor and Kilvington were rc-clected circuit stewards and Mr. Goldsmith financial steward. Mr. F. S. Guy was appointed lay representative to the conference which opens in Auckland on February 16.

At the close of the meeting a dainty supper was provided by the lady members, who were cordially thanked on the motion of Mr. Kilvington.
