CITY COUNCIL ANNUAL PICNIC

An event which employees of the Palmerston North City Council and friends look forward to each year is the annual picnic held at Plimmeruon. The 1933 outing takes place on Friday and the journey is to be made as usual by train. Starting times are advertised and attention is drawn to the fact that hot water and milk aro to be provided free and an open invitation is extended to all. In view of the fact that the school holidays are almost over, there should be a record gathering, the weather being all' that is desired for a day by the sea. P. AND T. OUTING The staff of the local Post and Telegraph Department and their friends are holding their annual picnic at Ballance bridge on Sunday next. A strong committee has been working hard to have everything in order for this the one day in the year when departmental cares are tossed aside. The committee has arranged for a special train that will stop at the various crossings on the way out to pick up picnickers. Various events have been decided on and the children will be well looked after for fruit, drinks, ice creams, etc. It only requires a good lino day and this will be one of the best picnics which the local staff have put on
