Miss Clo. Graves, the author of "The Dop Doctor,” who died iu England, was an unusual figure in London literary life. Most readers know her under the pen-narno she adopted of "Richard Delian,” says the Manchester Guardian. She wore short hair and affected a masculine manner and cut of costume aud smoked cigarettes in public some 35 years ago, when such characteristics were considered eccentric. Edmund Yates thought her stories ideal for his mnn-of-the-woTld "World,” and she also contributed to "Punch.” She had much of tho talent of tho Irish Graves family of C. L. Graves and A. P. Graves, to which she was related.
